Why don't you typically use roses?

At Mama Beez, our goal is to create Floral Tributes that can be enjoyed for as long as possible.

While roses are undeniably beautiful, they're also a favorite snack for local wildlife. Deer are especially fond of them, and in many cases, rose arrangements may be eaten shortly after placement.

For this reason, we thoughtfully select seasonal flowers that are better suited for the outdoor environment while still creating a beautiful and meaningful tribute.

🌿 Wildlife & Weather

Every Floral Tribute is thoughtfully designed with the outdoor environment in mind.

Seasonal weather, sunshine, wind, and local wildlife—including deer and other animals—may naturally affect flowers after they're placed. While we can't control nature, we carefully select blooms that are generally more durable and better suited for the setting whenever possible.

Each tribute is created with the hope that it will remain beautiful for as long as nature allows.

📅 Grounds Maintenance & Delivery Timing

Planning Around Grounds Maintenance

To help your Floral Tribute remain in place as long as possible, we recommend scheduling delivery after the regularly scheduled grounds maintenance.

Miramar National Cemetery performs routine grounds maintenance on the first and third Wednesday of each month. During this time, previously placed flowers and other permitted items may be respectfully removed so the grounds can be mowed, trimmed, and maintained.

For the longest viewing time, we recommend scheduling your Floral Tribute for Thursday following the first or third Wednesday whenever your occasion allows.

If you're honoring a birthday, anniversary, holiday, or another meaningful date that doesn't align with the maintenance schedule, we'll happily place your tribute on your requested date. We simply want you to be aware that it may be removed during the next scheduled grounds maintenance.
